Abstract

A foldable ramp assembly that is relatively long yet portable with a structure that comprises three ramp sections, a pair of first hinge assemblies for rotatably coupling the first and second ramp sections about a first pivot axis, and a pair of second hinge assemblies for rotatably coupling the second and third ramp sections about a second pivot axis. When fully opened, the three ramp sections extend along a single plane to provide a continuous elongated ramp. When fully closed, the structures of the ramp sections and hinge assemblies allow the ramp sections to be stowed in a compact configuration where the three sections are disposed adjacent to one in parallel fashion. The ramp assembly can have wheels for ease of transportability and the hinge assemblies can be disconnected to allow for the three ramp sections to be moved or stored separate from one another.

Dependent claims

A foldable ramp assembly, comprising:

first, second and third ramp sections, each of the first, second and third ramp sections having a respective top surface;
a pair of first hinge assemblies coupled to the first and second ramp sections and enabling about a first axis rotatable movement of the first and second ramp sections relative to one another;
a pair of second hinge assemblies coupled to the second and third ramp sections and enabling about a second axis rotatable movement of the second and third ramp sections relative to one another;
the first and second hinge assemblies configured to allow the first, second, and third ramp sections to be configured in a fully open position in which the top surfaces of the first, second, and third ramp sections are adjacent to one another and disposed substantially along a single plane to provide a continuous elongated surface;
the first and second hinge assemblies configured to allow the first, second, and third ramp sections to be configured in a fully closed position in which the top surfaces of the first, second, and third ramp sections are disposed along separate planes that are substantially parallel to one another.
