Abstract
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture for barrier systems with impact resistant rails supported from floor mounted post bases are disclosed. An apparatus includes an anchor for a post, the anchor to be attached to a walking surface; an outer body of the post, the outer body to be in contact with a cylindrical protrusion of the anchor, the cylindrical protrusion to extend upward from the walking surface; a rail to extend through an opening in a wall of the outer body; and a rod to extend through a hole in the rail, an end of the rod to be within the cylindrical protrusion.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- an anchor for a post, the anchor to be attached to a walking surface;
- an outer body of the post, the outer body to be in contact with a cylindrical protrusion of the anchor, the cylindrical protrusion to extend upward from the walking surface;
- a rail to extend through an opening in a wall of the outer body;
- and
- a rod to extend through a hole in the rail, an end of the rod to be within the cylindrical protrusion.
An apparatus comprising:
- a base plate for a first post, the base plate to be anchored to a walking surface;
- a cylindrical protrusion to extend upwards from the base plate, the cylindrical protrusion having a first diameter;
- an outer body of the first post, the outer body to extend upward from the cylindrical protrusion, the outer body having a second diameter;
- a rail to extend between the first post and a second post;
- and
- a rod to extend upward from the base plate within the outer body, an end of the rod to be within the cylindrical protrusion, the rail to be coupled to the rod, the rail having a third diameter, the second diameter closer to the third diameter than the second diameter is to the third diameter.
An apparatus comprising:
- an outer body of a first post, the outer body to extend upward from a walking surface;
- a rail to extend between the first post and a second post;
- a sleeve to reinforce the rail, the sleeve to be more rigid than the rail, the sleeve proximate an end of the rail and spaced apart from a middle of the rail;
- and
- a rod to extend upward from the walking surface within the outer body, the rod to extend through the sleeve.
