Abstract
A fuel additive having one or more industrial and/or mining waste components, the one or more industrial waste components including one or more components generated by alumina and/or shale oil production. Also described are methods of making and methods of using the fuel additive.
Claims20
A fuel additive comprising bauxite residue, oil shale ash, and cryolite.
A method of making a fuel additive comprising:
- combining bauxite residue, oil shale ash, and cryolite, with one or more secondary components, thereby generating a mixture capable of being used as a fuel additive.
A method of using a fuel additive comprising:
- combining a fuel additive with a fuel, and
- performing a process to generate energy from the fuel,
- wherein the fuel additive comprises bauxite residue, oil shale ash, and cryolite, and optionally one or more secondary components.
