Two-component coating composition, and article made therefrom

Abstract

The two-component coating composition comprises: Component A: a film-forming resin composition comprising at least one hydroxyacrylic resin, at least one polyester resin, at least one reactive diluent, at least one pigment/filler, and optionally additional additives; and Component B: a curing system comprising at least one hydrophobic polyisocyanate curing agent, wherein the reactive diluent has at least two groups, preferably 2-4 and more preferably 2-3 groups per molecule, the groups being capable of reacting with isocyanate groups; and wherein two-component coating composition has a solid content of at least 75%, preferably at least 78%, based on the total weight of the two-component coating composition, and the two-component coating composition has a VOC of less than 360 g/L, preferably less than 320 g/L. The article comprises a substrate and a coating formed of the above two-component coating composition which is applied to the substrate.
