Abstract
The invention provides in the use of an indicator, to indicate the degree of depolymerisation, preferably the degree of biodegradation, of a degradable polymer in a polymer composition or an article made from said polymer composition. The invention further provides in a polymer composition comprising an indicator to indicate the degree of depolymerisation, and a method to visualise the degree of depolymerisation.

1-15. (canceled)
An article comprising a polymer composition, wherein the polymer composition comprises:
- at least 0.01 wt. % to at most 10.00 wt. % of an indicator, indicating the degree of depolymerisation, or the degree of biodegradation;
- at least 0.05 wt. % to a most 25.00 wt. % of a base, a buffering agent or a mixture of thereof;
- and
- at least 65.00 wt. % to at most 99.94 wt. % of a degradable polymer;
- wherein the pKa of the base, and/or the buffer agent is higher than the colour transition range of the indicator.
A method for visualizing depolymerisation in an article comprising a polymer composition;
- comprising the steps of:
- incorporating an indicator in the polymer composition in an amount from at least 0.01 wt. % to at most 10.00 wt. % compared to the total weight of the polymer composition;
- and
- incorporating a base, in the polymer composition in an amount from at least 0.05 wt. % to a most 25.00 wt. % compared to the total weight of the polymer composition;
- wherein the pKa of the base, and/or the buffer agent is higher than the colour transition range of the indicator;
- and, forming the article from the polymer composition.
