Abstract
The present invention relates to a diacid-diol polyester in which the dicarboxylic component comprises 1-60% in moles of units derived from 1,16-hexadecanedioic acid and 40-99% in moles of units derived from 1,18-octadecanedioic acid. This polyester, advantageously obtained from a renewable source, has thermal properties that make it suitable for use, as such or in mixtures with other polymers, in all the main transformation processes (e.g. film-forming, thermoforming, injection moulding, extrusion coating) and in particular for the preparation of thermoformed articles and films for food packaging.
