Abstract
Provided is a method for producing a fluoropolymer, the method comprising polymerizing a fluoromonomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator and an aqueous medium in a reactor to prepare a composition containing the aqueous medium and the fluoropolymer, and bringing the composition into contact with a gas containing at least oxygen.

A method for producing a fluoropolymer, the method comprising:
- polymerizing a fluoromonomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator and an aqueous medium in a reactor to prepare a composition containing the aqueous medium and the fluoropolymer, and
- after preparing the composition, removing the fluoromonomer from the reactor, and then feeding a gas containing at least oxygen to the reactor, and
- bringing the composition into contact with the gas.
A suspension-polymerized particle of a modified polytetrafluoroethylene, wherein
- the modified polytetrafluoroethylene has an amount of ΔPPVE of 0.002% by mass or more, and
- a content of a fluorine-containing compound having a hydrophilic group, which is represented by general formula (2), is 100 ppb by mass or less based on the mass of the modified polytetrafluoroethylene:
- wherein n is an integer of 9 to 14, and M+ represents a cation.
