This disclosure also provides a method of diagnosis or prognosis of a disease or disorder caused by S. aureus.
Claims30
A method for reducing the number of cells of a pathogenic bacterium or a pathogenic fungus in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an inhibitor of an inhibitory immune checkpoint molecule.
(canceled)
A method of diagnosis or prognosis of a disease or disorder caused by a pathogenic bacterium or a pathogenic fungus in a subject in need thereof, comprising:
- determining a level of each of a set of biomarkers in a sample from the subject, wherein the set of biomarkers comprises an inhibitory immune checkpoint molecule or a cytokine;
- determining a change in the level of each of the set of biomarkers as compared to a reference level for each of the set of biomarkers;
- and
- assessing the presence of the disease or disorder or a status of the disease or disorder based on the change in the level of each of the set of biomarkers as compared to the reference level for each of the set of biomarkers.
