Abstract
An electrochemical decontamination method of removing fluorinated organic compound(s) (FOC(s)) from an aqueous stream, comprising applying electric voltage across electrodes in contact with the FOC(s)-containing aqueous stream in the presence of at least one Mn+ and at least one Ak−, wherein Mn+ is a reducible cation of a transition metal that can assume multiple oxidation states and Ak− is an oxidizable anion.
