Abstract
The invention concerns a chemical looping process for the production of CO from CO2, wherein NH3 and CO2 are iteratively provided to a reactor. The invention furthermore concerns the use of NH3 in a chemical looping process for the production of CO from CO2 and a chemical looping reactor.
Claims14
A process for the production of CO from CO2, wherein NH3 and CO2 are iteratively provided to a reactor comprising one or more catalysts and wherein CO is formed in the reactor when CO2 is provided, and wherein the reaction temperature is 400° C. or higher, and wherein the one or more catalysts comprise a redox catalyst for converting CO2 to CO.
A chemical looping reactor for the production of CO from CO2 comprising a membrane that is permeable for H2 that separates the reactor into two parts, wherein the first part comprises a catalyst for converting NH3 to N2 and H2 and the second part comprises a redox catalyst for converting CO2 to CO and wherein the reactor comprises one or more feed inlets and one or more product outlets connected to the first part and one or more feed inlets and one or more product outlets connected to the second part.
