Modular horse bit system

A modular horse bit, comprising:

• a first mouthpiece comprising:
• a first sleeve defining a first internal channel extending through at least a portion of a length of the first sleeve;
• a first hook comprising a first hook shank configured to extend through the first internal channel, the first hook shank having a first threaded portion at one end and a curved hook portion at an opposite end;
• a first end cap comprising a first hole with internal threads configured to engage with the first threaded portion of the first hook shank;
• and
• a first cheek piece having a first cheek piece opening, the first cheek piece removably connected to the first mouthpiece;
• a second mouthpiece comprising:
• a second sleeve defining a second internal channel extending through at least a portion of a length of the second sleeve;
• a second hook comprising a second hook shank configured to extend through the second internal channel, the second hook shank having a second threaded portion at one end and a curved hook portion at an opposite end;
• a second end cap comprising a second hole with internal threads configured to engage with the second threaded portion of the second hook shank;
• and
• a second cheek piece having a second cheek piece opening, the second cheek piece removably connected to the second mouthpiece;
• wherein the curved hook portion of the first hook and the curved hook portion of the second hook are configured to engage with one another to connect the first mouthpiece to the second mouthpiece.

A kit for modular horse bit, the kit comprising:

• a first mouthpiece comprising:
• a first sleeve defining a first internal channel extending through at least a portion of a length of the first sleeve;
• a first hook comprising a first hook shank sized to extend through the first internal channel, the first hook shank having a first threaded portion at one end and a curved hook portion at an opposite end;
• a first end cap comprising a first hole with internal threads sized and configured to engage with the first threaded portion of the first hook shank;
• and
• a first cheek piece having a first cheek piece opening, the first cheek piece configured to be removably connected to the first mouthpiece;
• a second mouthpiece comprising:
• a second sleeve defining a second internal channel extending through at least a portion of a length of the second sleeve;
• a second hook comprising a second hook shank sized to extend through the second internal channel, the second hook shank having a second threaded portion at one end and a curved hook portion at an opposite end;
• a second end cap comprising a second hole with internal threads sized and configured to engage with the second threaded portion of the second hook shank;
• and
• a second cheek piece having a second cheek piece opening, the second cheek piece configured to be removably connected to the second mouthpiece.
