Abstract

A charging system includes a charging pile and a vehicle-mounted charging connection apparatus used in an electric vehicle. The charging pile includes a charging device and a liquid cooling device. The charging device can output a direct current to the vehicle via the vehicle-mounted charging connection apparatus, and a liquid-phase coolant in the liquid cooling device can be transmitted to a thermal management system for a power battery in the electric vehicle via the vehicle-mounted charging connection apparatus, so that the coolant can be further transmitted to the thermal management system for the battery while the battery of the electric vehicle is charged at a high power, to help meet a heat dissipation requirement of the battery during high-power charging. Therefore, the electric vehicle can be charged at a high power, to shorten the charging duration for the electric vehicle.

Dependent claims

A charging system, comprising:

a charging pile;
and
a vehicle-mounted charging connector
configured to be mounted to an electric vehicle, that comprises a battery and a thermal management system for the battery;
wherein
the charging pile comprises a charger and a liquid coolant supply, the charger comprising a plurality of power converters and a charging plug, the coolant supply comprising first liquid inlet/outlet connector, and the vehicle-mounted connector comprises a charging receptacle and a second liquid inlet/outlet connector, wherein
the plurality of power converters are electrically connected to the charging plug and the charging plug is configured to electrically connect to the charging receptacle so that the plurality of power converters output a direct current to the charging receptacle;
and
the first inlet/outlet connector is configured to connect to the second inlet/outlet connector, in order to circulate a coolant from the coolant supply and through to the thermal management system.

A vehicle-mounted charging connector configured to be mounted to an electric vehicle, that comprises a battery and a thermal management system for the battery, the vehicle-mounted charging connector comprising:

at least one charging receptacle, a vehicle-end charging output connector, a first liquid inlet/outlet connector, and a second liquid inlet/outlet connector, wherein
each charging receptacle of the at least one charging receptacle is electrically connected to the vehicle-end charging output connector, each connector is configured to electrically connect to a charger, and the vehicle-end charging output connector is configured to electrically connect to the battery, so that the charger outputs a direct current to the battery;
and
the first liquid inlet/outlet connector is in fluid communication with the second liquid inlet/outlet connector, the first liquid inlet/outlet connector is configured to connect to an off-vehicle coolant supply, and the second liquid inlet/outlet connector is configured to connect to the thermal management system in order to circulate a coolant from the coolant supply through the thermal management system.
