• the liquid ejection apparatus including,
• a liquid ejection unit configured to eject a liquid onto a medium,
• a collection unit configured to collect, as a waste liquid, the liquid ejected from the liquid ejection unit,
• a mounting portion where a waste liquid container configured to contain the waste liquid collected by the collection unit is attachable and detachable,
• a waste liquid flow path configured to allow the waste liquid to flow into the waste liquid container, and
• a control unit configured to control the delivery of the waste liquid into the waste liquid container,
• the liquid ejection unit is configured to eject
• a recording liquid for recording on the medium,
• a treatment liquid that is a liquid having reactivity with the recording liquid and performs a treatment on the medium, and
• a cleaning liquid for cleaning the liquid ejection unit, and
• the control method comprising:
• preventing the treatment liquid from being discharged into the waste liquid container when the recording liquid is contained in the waste liquid container;
• and
• preventing the recording liquid from being discharged into the waste liquid container when the treatment liquid is contained in the waste liquid container.
