Abstract

An extrusion apparatus and a method of kneading a resin raw material capable of improving an energy usage efficiency by using the energy, which has been discharged and discarded by a cooler provided in an extrusion apparatus, in the same apparatus are provided. An extrusion apparatus 10 includes a cylinder 12 having an upstream region 12UA and a downstream region 12DA, a supply unit 11 of a resin raw material provided on a side of the upstream region 12UA of the cylinder 12, a screw arranged in the cylinder 12 and configured to convey and knead the resin raw material, a discharge unit 15 of the resin raw material provided on a side of the downstream region 12DA of the cylinder 12, a heater 14 provided in the upstream region 12UA of the cylinder and configured to heat the resin raw material, a cooler 16 provided in the downstream region 12DA of the cylinder and configured to cool the cylinder 12, and a pipe 17 arranged so as to connect the upstream region 12UA and the downstream region 12DA of the cylinder 12 and connected to the cooler 16.
