On-line drying of hollow fiber membranes

A device for continuously drying and tempering a plurality of hollow fiber membranes, the device comprising a plurality of rollers disposed within a housing, the housing comprising i) an inlet and an outlet for the hollow fiber membranes and ii) an exhaust,

• wherein the plurality of rollers are configured to heat the hollow fiber membranes;
• wherein each roller of the plurality of rollers comprises an outer surface and wherein the outer surface of each roller is individually heatable and wherein each roller is individually driven by a drive, and
• wherein the plurality of rollers are positioned within the housing such that each roller comprises an axis wherein the axis of each roller is parallel and wherein all axes lie in a single common plane, characterized in that the device comprises a comb located outside of the housing at the inlet of the device,
• wherein the comb is configured to guide the plurality of hollow fiber membranes into the device and to oscillate around a zero position continuously and periodically in a direction parallel to the axes of the plurality of rollers and wherein the comb continuously changes a track of the plurality of hollow fiber membranes on the outer surfaces of each roller of the plurality of rollers.
