Abstract
A catheter comprising an outer device (260) within which an inner device (250) can move in a lengthwise direction relative to the outer device. At least one of the inner device or outer device are moved according to a predetermined condition, the movement being controlled by a controller (210), the predetermined condition relating to one or more of a blood parameter of blood proximal to a distal end of the device system, a predetermined lack of mobility of the device system; and the location of the distal end of the outer device within the vascular structure.
Claims16
A medical system for controlling a device system within a blood vascular structure, the device system comprising an elongated outer device and an elongated inner device, the inner device being moveable within the outer device, the medical system comprising:
- a controller configured to control the movement of at least one of the inner device or the outer device in the lengthwise direction relative to the other,
- wherein the controller is further configured to control the movement of the at least one of the inner device or the outer device responsive to a predetermined condition, and
- wherein the predetermined condition relates to one or more of:
- a blood parameter of blood proximal to a distal end of the device system;
- and blood flow in the area of the vascular structure where the distal end of the device system is located.
A medical system for controlling a device system within a blood vascular structure, the device system comprising an elongated outer device and an elongated inner device, the inner device being moveable within the outer device, the medical system comprising:
- a controller configured to control the movement of at least one of the inner device or the outer device in the lengthwise direction relative to the other,
- wherein the controller is further configured to control the movement of the at least one of the inner device or the outer device responsive to a predetermined condition, and
- wherein the predetermined condition relates to clot forming at or proximate a distal end of the device system.
A controller for use in a medical system for controlling a device system within a blood vasculature structure,
- the device system comprising an elongated outer device and an elongated inner device, the inner device being moveable within the outer device,
- the controller configured to control the movement of at least one of the inner device or the outer device in the lengthwise direction relative to the other,
- wherein the controller is further configured to control the movement of the at least one of the inner device or the outer device responsive to a predetermined condition, and
- wherein the predetermined condition relates to one or more of:
- a blood parameter of blood proximal to a distal end of the device system;
- and the location of the distal end of the outer device within the vascular structure.
