Drainpipe biocide delivery apparatus

Abstract

A biocide delivery apparatus for a drainpipe system has an in-line central chamber with a dissolution well for retaining stagnant water when there is no fluid flow through the pipe system. It is connected in-line to a drainpipe or other pipe system by an inlet and an outlet. An upper housing extends upward from the central chamber and is sealed with an upper lid. A cartridge is removably inserted into the upper housing and extends down to the bottom of the well below the central, in-line chamber. One or more holes at the bottom of the cartridge allow a biocide block inside the cartridge to be exposed to stagnant water retained by the well. The central chamber may include guide walls that aligned with openings in the cartridge to facilitate turbulence and incoming water to better dissolve a biocide tablet.
