Abstract
Disclosed is an adeno-associated virus (AAV) capsid protein variant having improved infectivity and transduction efficiency into target cells, and uses thereof. Specifically, disclosed is an AAV2 variant capsid protein selected by directed evolution for gene delivery into retinal cells, a recombinant AAV vector including the same, and uses thereof as a gene delivery vehicle for retinal cells.

An AAV2 variant capsid protein comprising a peptide NAPPKNP inserted into a GH-loop of a wild-type AAV2 capsid protein.
