Abstract
The present invention is directed to the use of MayDay peptide fragments, named Decorin31-170, Decorin31-188, Decorin31-177, Decorin 31-169 or Decorin 1-188 (Decorin protein N-terminal fragments) in the treatment and prevention of respiratory inflammation and associated diseased Acute Respiratory Distress (ARDS), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, bronchitis and pulmonary fibrosis. Also anticipated in the present invention is methods of modulating tissue repair and modulating stem cell recruitment.
