Abstract
The present invention is directed to the use of MayDay peptide fragments, named Decorin31-170, Decorin31-188, Decorin31-177, Decorin31-169 or Decorinl-188 (Decorin protein N-terminal fragments) in the treatment and prevention of tissue ischemia and diseases associated with ischemia such as myocardial infarction (MI), reperfusion injury, organ transplantation, wound healing, stroke, cardiomyopathy and heart failure. Also anticipated in the present invention is methods of modulating tissue repair and modulating stem cell recruitment.
