Analgesic compositions, method of manufacture and uses thereof

A method of manufacturing endocannabinoid and/or cannabinoid particles, the method comprising:

• dissolving the endocannabinoid and/or cannabinoid and a lipid in a first solvent;
• evaporating the first solvent to leave behind a powder or film;
• adding to the powder or film an aqueous solution;
• heating the aqueous solution containing the powder and the film to a temperature greater than about 100° C. or to a temperature higher than the melting point of the lipid;
• and
• agitating the aqueous solution with a rotary agitator at about 5,000 to about 15,000 revolutions per minute to form the endocannabinoid and/or cannabinoid particles;
• where the particles are nanoparticles and/or microparticles.

A method of reducing joint inflammation, swelling and/or pain in a subject, the method comprising:

• administering a therapeutically effective amount of at least one endocannabinoid, at least one cannabinoid, or a combination of the endocannabinoid and cannabinoid to the subject;
• where at least one of the endocannabinoid or the cannabinoid is in the form of a nanoparticle and/or microparticle;
• and wherein the endocannabinoid comprises one or more endocannabinoids, one or more analogues of the endocannabinoids, one or more pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the endocannabinoid, or a combination thereof;
• where the cannabinoid comprises one or more cannabinoids, one or more analogues of the cannabinoids, one or more pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the cannabinoid, or a combination thereof.
