Monitor device with sensor classifier for a personal care system, and related methods

A monitor device for a personal care appliance, the monitor device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the monitor device to perform a set of operations, the set of operations comprising:
• setting a state of a first sensor of the personal care appliance to a default state;
• obtaining first sensor data from the first sensor;
• processing the first sensor data to determine if a first criterion is satisfied;
• in accordance with determining the first criterion is satisfied, setting the state of the first sensor from the default state to the first state;
• and
• outputting, to an accessory device implementing a data representation protocol, a first sensor state identifier indicative of the first sensor state according to the data representation protocol.

A method of processing, by a monitor device, data from a personal care appliance, the method comprising:

• setting a state of a first sensor of the personal care appliance to a default state;
• obtaining first sensor data from the first sensor;
• processing the first sensor data to determine if a first criterion is satisfied;
• in accordance with determining the first criterion is satisfied, setting the state of the first sensor from the default state to the first state;
• and
• outputting, to an accessory device implementing a data representation protocol, a first sensor state identifier indicative of the first sensor state according to the data representation protocol.

A personal care system, comprising:

• a monitor device, comprising:
• at least one processor;
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the monitor device to perform a set of operations, the set of operations comprising:
• setting a state of a first sensor of the personal care appliance to a default state;
• obtaining first sensor data from the first sensor;
• processing the first sensor data to determine if a first criterion is satisfied;
• in accordance with determining the first criterion is satisfied, setting the state of the first sensor from the default state to the first state;
• and
• outputting, to an accessory device implementing a data representation protocol, a first sensor state identifier indicative of the first sensor state according to the data representation protocol;
• and
• an accessory device configured to:
• receive, from the monitor device, data according to the data representation protocol;
• and
• generate, based on the received data, a user interface for display to a user of the accessory device.
