Abstract
A urethral endoscope for antegrade insertion of a stent is disclosed. The urethral endoscope and method may provide opties at the time of inserting and positioning a urethral stent. A deployment system is configured to hold simultaneously an implant and an optical system facilitating direct insertion of the implant into the desired area. In some embodiments, this facilitates insertion of the implant without first inserting the implant into the bladder and/or pulling the implant back from the bladder into the urethra. Some embodiments may facilitate insertion of an implant with a reduced number of insertions and removals of the endoscope and/or a sheath thereof.
Claims21
A method of inserting urethral implant storing implant in distal portion of a lumen of a delivery sheath;
- inserting the distal portion of the sheath into a urethra;
- inserting optics through proximal portion of lumen to view out of a distal opening of lumen while implant remain in distal portion of lumen.
(canceled)
A system for inserting an implant into a urethra comprising:
- a sheath having a distal portion configured for insertion into the urethra while a proximal portion remains outside of the urethra
- a retainer configured for retaining the implant in a distal portion of said sheath;
- a connector connecting the implant to a distal portion of the retainer and a handle configured to facilitate exposure of the implant from the sheath and release of the connector.
