Abstract
This disclosure includes expandable spinal fusion implants, instrumentation, and methods for using the same.
Claims19
An expandable implant device comprising:
- a first endplate having a first ramp;
- a second endplate having a second ramp;
- a first lead screw having a length;
- and
- a first wedge configured to translate along the length of the first lead screw as the first lead screw is rotated,
- wherein a surface of the first wedge is configured to move the first endplate and the second endplate to change a dimension of the expandable implant device.

An expandable implant device comprising:
- a first endplate comprising a first ramp;
- a second endplate comprising a second ramp;
- a first lead screw having a first length, the first lead screw being rotatably coupled to a second lead screw having a second length, the first lead screw being configured to rotate independently of the second lead screw;
- a first wedge configured to translate along the length of the first lead screw as the first lead screw is rotated, wherein a surface of the first wedge is configured to communicate with the first endplate and the second endplate to change a dimension of the expandable implant device;
- and
- a second wedge configured to translate along the length of the second lead screw as the second lead screw is rotated, wherein a surface of the second wedge is configured to communicate with the first endplate and the second endplate to change a dimension of the expandable implant device.
3 more elements
An expandable implant device comprising:
- a first endplate comprising a first ramp and a second ramp;
- a second endplate comprising a third ramp and a fourth ramp;
- a first threaded portion coupled to a second threaded portion, the first threaded portion configured to rotate independently of the second threaded portion;
- a first threaded nut configured to translate along a length of the first threaded portion as the first threaded portion is rotated, the first threaded nut having a wedge surface configured to move at least one of the first ramp and the third ramp, and configured to displace the first endplate relative to the second endplate to change a dimension of the expandable implant device;
- and
- a second threaded nut configured to translate along the second threaded portion as the second threaded portion is rotated, the second threaded nut having a wedge surface configured to move at least one of the first ramp and the third ramp, and configured to displace the first endplate relative to the second endplate to change a dimension of the expandable implant device.
