Medical device end cap with one or more extendable tissue manipulation arms

A medical system comprising:

• an insertion device defining a working channel;
• and
• an end cap device attachable to a distal end of the insertion device, the end cap device comprising:
• an end cap having a body defining a lumen substantially aligned with the working channel;
• and
• a plurality of arms movably coupled to the body, wherein each arm of the plurality of arms is independently movable at least between a retracted position and an extended position.

A method for performing a medical procedure, comprising the steps:

• inserting an insertion device into a body lumen to a target site, wherein an end cap device is attached to a distal end of the insertion device, wherein the end cap device includes an end cap having a body and at least one arm movably coupled to the body;
• inserting a medical device through the insertion device to the target site;
• cutting a target tissue at the target site via a tool of the medical device, wherein the tool is an electrosurgical knife;
• and
• manipulating the target tissue with the end cap device, wherein manipulating the target tissue comprises distally extending the at least one arm from a retracted position toward an extended position distal of the end cap.
