Abstract
A system and method for measuring pulse wave velocity. In some embodiments, a system includes: a pulse timing sensor, including: a first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor; and a second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor, the first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a first point, on a first artery, and the second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a second point on a second artery.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a pulse timing sensor, comprising:
- a first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor, and
- a second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor;
- and
- a processing circuit,
- the first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor comprising two lasers or two image sensors,
- the processing circuit being configured to select a first combination, of a laser and an image sensor, of the first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor,
- the first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor being configured to measure, using the selected first combination, a blood flow velocity at a first point, on a first artery, and
- the second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a second point on a second artery.

A system, comprising:
- a pulse timing sensor, comprising:
- a first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor;
- and
- a second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor,
- the first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor comprising a first rolling-shutter image sensor and being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a first point, on a first artery, a speckle size of at the first rolling-shutter image sensor is smaller than a size of a pixel of the first rolling-shutter image sensor, and
- the second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a second point on a second artery.

A system, comprising:
- a pulse timing sensor, comprising:
- a first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor;
- and
- a second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor,
- the first wearable speckleplethysmography sensor comprising a first rolling-shutter image sensor and being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a first point, on a first artery, based on a first plurality of data points captured by the first rolling-shutter image sensor,
- the second wearable speckleplethysmography sensor comprising a second rolling-shutter image sensor and being configured to measure a blood flow velocity at a second point, on a second artery, based on a second plurality of data points captured by the second rolling-shutter image sensor, and
- the system being configured to estimate a pulse wave velocity based on a cross-correlation of the first plurality of data points and the second plurality of data points.
