Abstract
An outlet valve for use with a beverage machine may be controllable to provide one or more levels of backpressure at the outlet of the beverage machine. The valve may include a shuttle movable relative to a port and having a plunger that is resiliently biased to move relative to the shuttle. The shuttle may be configured to adjust a backpressure on fluid in a flowpath based on a position of the shuttle relative to the port.
Claims28
A valve for use with a beverage machine outlet, comprising:
- a valve body having a cavity, an inlet, an outlet, a port between the inlet and the cavity, and a flowpath from the inlet to the outlet including the port and at least a portion of the cavity;
- and
- a shuttle movable relative to the valve body in the cavity and including a plunger that is movable relative to the shuttle and resiliently biased to move toward the port, the shuttle being configured to adjust a backpressure on fluid in the flowpath based on a position of the shuttle relative to the port.
A valve for use with a beverage machine outlet, comprising:
- a valve body having an inlet, an outlet, a cavity, a port and a flowpath from the inlet to the outlet that includes at least a portion of the cavity and the port, the cavity being downstream of the port and having larger cross-sectional area than the port;
- and
- a shuttle movable in the cavity relative to the port and including a plunger that is resiliently biased to move relative to the shuttle, the shuttle being configured to adjust a backpressure on fluid in the flowpath based on a position of the shuttle relative to the port.
