Abstract

A picture mounting assembly is provided. The picture mounting assembly includes a frame assembly able to support a planar substrate and a wall mounting member configured for attachment to a wall. The frame assembly includes a plurality of frame sections arranged to define a perimeter and at least one frame cleat disposed along the frame assembly. The wall mounting member includes a mounting cleat that can engage the frame cleat such that the frame assembly is removably supported on the wall mounting member. The cooperating cleat structure distributes load across the substrate and provides stable, repeatable mounting while resisting warping, misalignment, and unintended disengagement. The picture mounting assembly allows simplified installation, secure support of substrates of varying sizes, and flexible orientation while maintaining a clean, low-profile appearance on the wall.
