Systems and methods for mitigating transient unavailability of a disk are provided. A plurality of write requests configured to write data to each of a memory table stored by a memory and a write-ahead-log (WAL) file can be received. A first group of the write requests can be executed by writing to a first WAL file segment stored by the primary disk. When the primary disk health parameter indicates transient unavailability of the primary disk, a second group of the write requests can be executed by switching and writing data to a second WAL file segment stored by a secondary disk. When at least one of the transient unavailability of the primary disk is resolved, or transient unavailability of the secondary disk exists, a third group of the write requests can be executed by switching and writing to a third WAL file segment stored by the primary disk.
