Abstract
When a user turns on power of a recording apparatus, the recording apparatus notifies the user whether positions of a light-emitting portion and a light-receiving portion are aligned.
Claims9
A recording apparatus that performs recording on a label, the recording apparatus comprising:
- conveyance means configured to convey the label;
- a light-emitting portion provided to be movable in a width direction of the label and configured to emit light;
- a light-receiving portion provided to be movable in the width direction of the label and configured to receive the light from the light-emitting portion;
- a detection unit configured to detect a leading edge of the label conveyed by the conveyance means based on an output of the light-receiving portion;
- recording means configured to perform recording on the label based on a detection result of the detection unit;
- notification means configured to notify a user;
- and
- control means configured to perform control such that, upon the user switching a power of the recording apparatus from off to on, the notification means is caused to perform a notification when positions of the light-emitting portion and the light-receiving portion are not aligned, and the notification means is not caused to perform a notification when the positions of the light-emitting portion and the light-receiving portion are aligned.
