Abstract

An optical fiber cable includes: a plurality of optical fiber ribbons; a plurality of water absorption members; and a sheath configured to cover peripheries of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons and the plurality of water absorption members. Each of the optical fiber ribbons includes: a plurality of optical fibers; and a connecting resin configured to connect the plurality of optical fibers arranged in parallel in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the plurality of optical fibers. The connecting resin has at least one recess between the adjacent optical fibers. A thickness of each of the water absorption members is smaller than a center-to-center distance between the two adjacent optical fibers in a parallel direction of the optical fibers.
