Abstract
A display device includes a display panel and a cover window on the display panel, and the cover window includes a cover glass, a flame retardant layer, and a functional coating layer, and a cover window having a flame retardant characteristic and an anti-scattering characteristic by using a flame retardant layer is used to improve the durability and the heat-resistance of the display device.

A display device, comprising:
- a display panel;
- and
- a cover window on the display panel;
- and
- a polarization layer on the display panel,
- wherein the cover window includes a cover glass, a flame retardant layer, and a functional coating layer,
- the flame retardant layer is a flame retardant film between the cover glass and the functional coating layer,
- the flame retardant film has a single-layered structure formed from colorless polyimide (PI) or a mixture of an adhesive and a flame retardant,
- the cover glass is a chemically strengthened glass,
- the cover window has a thickness of 0.5 mm to 1 mm, and
- an optically clear adhesive layer (OCA) is disposed between the display panel and the cover window.
