Weapon shooting rest

A recoil-reducing shooting rest for use by a shooter when shooting a firearm, the shooting rest comprising:

• a frame;
• a front firearm support supported by the frame, the front firearm support configured to support a forward portion of the firearm;
• a rear firearm support supported by the frame, the rear firearm support configured to support a rear portion of the firearm;
• a vibration dampener supported by the frame, the vibration dampener being moveable relative to the stop to absorb recoil vibrations when the firearm is supported by the front and rear firearm supports and is fired;
• and
• a stop configured to inhibit rearward movement of the firearm relative to the firearm rest when the firearm is supported by the front and rear firearm supports and is fired.

A recoil-reducing shooting rest for supporting a firearm, the shooting rest comprising:

• a frame;
• a front firearm support supported by the frame, the front firearm support configured to support a forward portion of the firearm;
• a rear firearm support supported by the frame;
• the rear firearm support configured to support a rear portion of the firearm;
• a stop configured to inhibit rearward movement of the firearm relative to the firearm rest when the firearm is supported by the firearm rest and fired;
• a supplemental weight support supported by the frame and configured to hold supplemental weight to increase effective mass of the shooting rest to reduce firearm recoil force felt by a user;
• wherein the firearm rest is free of a frame member above the supplemental weight support extending between the front and rear supports.
