Abstract
A resetting trigger assembly includes a trigger member and a reset element configured to move relative to the trigger member during a reset sequence. In some embodiments, the reset element rotates about an axis during at least a portion of the reset sequence to return the trigger member to a ready state. In other embodiments, the reset element translates along a path during at least a portion of the reset sequence to return the trigger member to a ready state. In further embodiments, a reset member is movable between blocking and non-blocking positions, where movement of a cycling component drives the reset member to permit a subsequent actuation following a defined portion of cycling.
Claims20
A resetting trigger assembly for a firearm, comprising:
- a trigger member configured for user actuation;
- a reset element operatively coupled to the trigger member;
- a biasing element configured to urge at least one of the trigger member and the reset element toward a reset state;
- and
- an interfacing portion configured to operatively engage at least one cycling component of the firearm during operation;
- wherein the reset element is configured to rotate about an axis during at least a portion of a reset sequence to thereby return the trigger member to a ready-to-actuate state.
A resetting trigger assembly for a firearm, comprising:
- a trigger member configured for user actuation;
- a reset element operatively coupled to the trigger member;
- a biasing element configured to urge at least one of the trigger member and the reset element toward a reset state;
- and
- an interfacing portion configured to operatively engage at least one cycling component of the firearm during operation;
- wherein the reset element is configured to translate along a path during at least a portion of a reset sequence to thereby return the trigger member to a ready-to-actuate state.
A trigger assembly for a firearm, comprising:
- a trigger configured for user actuation;
- a reset member movable relative to the trigger between a blocking position and a non-blocking position;
- and
- an interfacing portion configured to be driven by movement of at least one cycling component of the firearm to move the reset member from the blocking position toward the non-blocking position;
- wherein the reset member is configured to inhibit actuation of the trigger in the blocking position and to permit actuation of the trigger in the non-blocking position following cycling of the at least one cycling component.
