Abstract
A PFAS-free hose is provided comprising an electrically conductive polyimide or PEEK innermost layer, optionally an adhesive tie layer, and a silicone tube layer. The conductive polyimide or PEEK innermost layer includes an electrically conductive filler and exhibits good electrical conductivity, is compatibility with aerospace fluids, and exhibits thermal stability, flexibility, and compatibility with outer tube layer when co-extruded.

A hose, comprising at least two layers:
- an innermost layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer film prepared from a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, an electrically conductive filler, and optionally a dispersing and processing additive;
- and
- a first rubber tube layer surrounding the innermost layer.
A method of making an aerospace hose comprising
- forming an innermost tube layer prepared from a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer;
- an electrically conductive filler;
- and optionally a dispersing and processing additive, optionally wherein the thermoplastic polymer comprises a polyimide or a PEEK polymer;
- optionally applying an adhesive to the innermost tube layer;
- and
- extruding a silicone rubber composition over the innermost tube layer to form a green hose comprising an outer silicone rubber tube layer;
- and
- curing the green hose to form the aerospace hose.
