Cord ratchet

Abstract

A cord ratchet device includes a mounting base defining a longitudinally extending pole channel for receiving a pole. A yoke is rigidly connected to the mounting base. The yoke defines a cord path. A lever is pivotally mounted on the yoke. The lever includes a pawl for engaging a cord by movement of the pawl thereby varying a dimension of the cord path. The pawl automatically permits cord movement in a first longitudinal direction, and automatically prevents cord movement in an opposite second longitudinal direction. The yoke includes two flanges between which the cord path is defined. The pawl is pivotally mounted to the yoke between the two flanges. The cord path is defined between the two flanges and between the pawl and a floor defined by an exterior of the mounting base between the two flanges. The dimension of the cord path is defined between the pawl and floor.
