Abstract

The disclosed technology includes systems related to a dual-use water management system. The dual-use water management system includes an upper reservoir at a first elevation. The system includes a lower reservoir positioned at a second elevation lower than the upper reservoir. The system further includes a powerhouse in fluid communication with the upper reservoir and the lower reservoir via at least one penstock, and the powerhouse configured to pump water from the lower reservoir to the upper reservoir and to generate power from water flowing from the upper reservoir to the lower reservoir by directing water through a turbine to drive a generator. The system also includes an aquaculture facility positioned at a third elevation, and the aquaculture facility being configured to maintain water quality parameters suitable for aquatic life.
