Provided is a Zn—Al—Mg coated steel sheet that has excellent sliding properties and spot weldability while also securing excellent corrosion resistance. The Zn—Al—Mg coated steel sheet includes a steel sheet, a coated layer formed on at least one side of the steel sheet, and an oxide layer formed on a surface of the coated layer. The coated layer has a chemical composition containing, in mass %, Al: 0.5% to 10.0%, and Mg: 0.5% to 10.0%, with the balance being Zn and inevitable impurity. The surface of the coated layer has a Zn single-phase microstructure and a eutectic microstructure as described in the description. An area fraction A of the eutectic microstructure on the surface of the coated layer is less than 60%. An average thickness B of the oxide layer on the surface of the coated layer is 10 nm to 50 nm.
