To provide a method for producing a horseshoe crab recombinant Factor. The horseshoe crab recombinant Factor is produced through expression thereof by use of HEK293 as host cells.

A method for producing a Limulus polyphemus Factor B protein, the method comprising:
- recombinantly expressing a nucleic acid encoding the Limulus polyphemus Factor B protein in a Human Embryonic Kidney (HEK) 293 cell,
- wherein the Limulus polyphemus Factor B protein has enzymatic activity of Factor B.
