Abstract
The present invention relates to a basal medium composition for animal cell culture. The basal medium composition for animal cell culture according to the present invention contains a yeast extract, amino acids, an inorganic salt, and a sugar, wherein the amino acids in the composition include cystine and/or cysteine, and glutamine.

A basal medium composition for animal cell culture, comprising a yeast extract, amino acids, an inorganic salt and a sugar, wherein the amino acids in the composition comprise cystine and/or cysteine, and glutamine,
- wherein the percentage of cystine and/or cysteine, and glutamine is 70% or more based on all amino acids in the composition.
A method for culturing animal cells, comprising culturing animal cells in a basal medium for animal cells, wherein the basal medium comprises a yeast extract, amino acids, an inorganic salt and a sugar, and the amino acids are cystine and/or cysteine, and glutamine,
- wherein the percentage of cystine and/or cysteine, and glutamine is 70% or more based on all amino acids in the composition.
