The present invention relates to a clamping apparatus for holding a container in a container treatment apparatus, that includes a fixed clamping arm comprising a connection portion for connecting the clamping apparatus to a transport unit, for example a transport star, of a container treatment apparatus, wherein a pivotable clamping arm is arranged on the fixed clamping arm so as to be pivotable relative to the fixed clamping arm, wherein the pivotable clamping arm includes a control portion that is configured to interact with a position-specifying unit of the container treatment apparatus, in order to move the pivotable clamping arm between an opening position and a closing position; it further relates to a container treatment apparatus.
