A container assembly comprising:
- a first container comprising:
- a first top face;
- a storage compartment below the first top face;
- a first front face, a first rear face opposite the first front face, a first side face, a second side face opposite the first side face;
- a first female coupler at the first top face, wherein the first female coupler comprises two sidewalls, a back wall, and a first rib, the back wall located between the two sidewalls, the two sidewalls and the back wall projecting above a depressed surface of the first top face, and the first rib extending away from the back wall in a first direction towards the first front face of the first container, the first rib also extending from at least one of the two sidewalls;
- and
- a first locking latch arresting location formed in the first top face;
- and
- a second container comprising:
- a second top face;
- a second front face, a second rear face opposite the second front face, a third side face, a fourth side face opposite the third side face;
- a first male coupler extending from a bottom face of the second container, the first male coupler configured to slidingly engage with the first female coupler of the first container in a second direction towards the first rear face of the first container, wherein the first female coupler and male coupler engage each other when the first container and the second container are slid with respect to each other, wherein the first female coupler of the first container and the first male coupler of the second container engage each other when the first container and the second container are slid with respect to each other along a sliding path defined by the first female coupler and the first male coupler, wherein the sliding path is substantially perpendicular to the first front face and the first rear face;
- and
- a locking latch positionable in a locked position engaging the first locking latch arresting location thereby limiting sliding displacement of the first container with respect to the second container;
- wherein, when the second container is coupled to the first container, the first container has a first width between the first side face and the second side face and along a first horizontal axis parallel to the first front face of the first container, and the second container has a second width between the third side face and the fourth side face along a second horizontal axis parallel to the second front face of the second container, wherein the first horizontal axis is parallel to the second horizontal axis, and wherein the first horizontal axis and the second horizontal axis extend in the same direction, and wherein the second width is approximately one-half the first width.
