Abstract
A two-wheel vehicle suspension linkage includes a plurality of linkage bodies including: a suspended body, and a wheel carrier body operatively coupled to one another, wherein the plurality of linkage bodies form at least seven known instantaneous velocity centers (IVCs), and no more than two of the at least seven known IVCs are formed at respective jointed connections to the suspended body; and a shock assembly. The shock assembly is operatively coupled to the plurality of linkage bodies, and the suspension linkage includes: a transmission element force vector tangent to respective tops of a driving element and a driven element, and an anti-squat curve with a first portion having a positive slope.

A two-wheel vehicle suspension linkage comprising:
- a plurality of linkage bodies including:
- a suspended body, and
- a wheel carrier body operatively coupled to one another, wherein the plurality of linkage bodies form at least seven known instantaneous velocity centers (IVCs), and no more than two of the at least seven known IVCs are formed at respective jointed connections to the suspended body;
- and
- a shock assembly, wherein:
- the shock assembly is operatively coupled to the plurality of linkage bodies, and
- the suspension linkage includes:
- a transmission element force vector tangent to respective tops of a driving element and a driven element, and
- an anti-squat curve with a first portion having a positive slope.
A two-wheel vehicle suspension linkage comprising:
- a plurality of linkage bodies including:
- a suspended body, a second body, a third body, a fourth body, a fifth body, and a sixth body together forming a plurality of IVCs including:
- an IVC[13][15] (20) at a jointed connection between the suspended body and the third body;
- an IVC[13][17] (21) at a jointed connection between the suspended body and the fifth body;
- an IVC[15][16] (24) at a jointed connection between the third body and the fourth body;
- an IVC[15][18] (25) at a jointed connection between the third body and the sixth body;
- an IVC[14][17] (23) at a jointed connection between the second body and the fifth body;
- and
- an IVC[17][18] (26) at a jointed connection between the fifth body and the sixth body, wherein the suspension linkage includes:
- a transmission element force vector tangent to respective tops of a driving element and a driven element, and
- an anti-squat curve with a first portion having a positive slope.
A two-wheel vehicle suspension linkage comprising:
- a plurality of linkage bodies including:
- a suspended body, a second body, a third body, a fourth body, a fifth body, and a sixth body together forming a plurality of IVCs including:
- an IVC[13][15] (20) at a jointed connection between the suspended body and the third body;
- an IVC[13][17] (21) at a jointed connection between the suspended body and the fifth body;
- an IVC[15][16] (24) at a jointed connection between the third body and the fourth body;
- an IVC[15][18] (25) at a jointed connection between the third body and the sixth body;
- an IVC[14][17] (23) at a jointed connection between the second body and the fifth body;
- and
- an IVC[17][18] (26) at a jointed connection between the fifth body and the sixth body, wherein a line segment defined by the IVC[15][18] (25) and the IVC[17][18] (26) is located at least partially rearward of the IVC[15][16] (24) in at least one portion of a travel of the suspension linkage.
