Abstract
A golf cart includes a frame and a driveline. The driveline is coupled with the frame. The driveline includes a prime mover, multiple tractive assemblies including tractive elements, an axle, a gearbox, and an electronically controlled brake. The axle is coupled with the tractive elements. The gearbox is configured to receive torque from the prime mover and transfer the torque to the axle to drive the tractive elements. The electronically controlled brake is coupled with the prime mover or a shaft of the gearbox. The electronically controlled brake is configured to provide braking for the tractive elements at the prime mover or at the gearbox.
Claims20
A golf cart comprising:
- a frame;
- and
- a driveline coupled with the frame, the driveline including:
- a prime mover;
- a plurality of tractive assemblies including tractive elements;
- an axle coupled with the tractive elements;
- a gearbox configured to receive torque from the prime mover and transfer the torque to the axle to drive the tractive elements;
- and
- an electronically controlled brake coupled with the prime mover or a shaft of the gearbox, the electronically controlled brake configured to provide braking for the tractive elements at the prime mover or at the gearbox.
A driveline for a recreational vehicle, the driveline comprising:
- a prime mover;
- a plurality of tractive assemblies including tractive elements;
- an axle coupled with the tractive elements;
- a gearbox configured to receive torque from the prime mover and transfer the torque to the axle to drive the tractive elements;
- and
- an electronically controlled brake coupled with the prime mover or a shaft of the gearbox, the electronically controlled brake configured to provide braking for the tractive elements at the prime mover or at the gearbox.
A recreational vehicle comprising:
- a frame;
- and
- a driveline coupled with the frame, the driveline including:
- an electric motor;
- a plurality of tractive assemblies including tractive elements;
- an axle coupled with the tractive elements;
- a gearbox configured to receive torque from the electric motor through a shaft and transfer the torque to the axle to drive the tractive elements;
- and
- an electronically controlled brake coupled with the shaft of the gearbox on a side of the gearbox opposite the electric motor, the electronically controlled brake including:
- a rotor;
- a parking brake configured to transition between an engaged state in which rotation of the shaft is limited and a disengaged state in which rotation of the shaft is allowed;
- and
- a variable brake configured to provide variable braking to the shaft of the gearbox to decelerate the recreational vehicle.
