Abstract
A writing instrument (10) includes: a barrel (20) having an opening (22a); a writing member (12) having a pen tip (13); an advancing and retracting mechanism (40) that advances and retracts the pen tip (13) from the opening (22a); and a sealing mechanism (70) that seals a housing space (S) of the pen tip (13) in a retracted state of the pen tip (13), the sealing mechanism (70) having a lid member (72) capable of coming into contact with a contact surface (22b) surrounding the opening (22a) to close the opening (22a), and a negative pressure suppression mechanism (80) that suppresses a pressure in the housing space (S) from becoming a negative pressure.

A writing instrument comprising:
- a barrel having an opening;
- a writing member having a pen tip;
- an advancing and retracting mechanism that advances and retracts the pen tip from the opening;
- and a sealing mechanism that seals a housing space of the pen tip in a retracted state of the pen tip, wherein
- the sealing mechanism has
- a lid member capable of coming into contact with a contact surface surrounding the opening to close the opening, and
- a negative pressure suppression mechanism that suppresses a pressure in the housing space from becoming a negative pressure.
