On a terminal edge of one of said plates (11) a guide element (14) is attached in which a housing slot (15) is created in which a bandsaw blade (16) is positioned sliding.

The slicing unit for cutting food products into slices (F), comprising two plates interspaced to define a hollow space, on a terminal edge of one of said plates there being attached a guide element in which a housing slot is created in which a bandsaw blade is positioned sliding, wherein a ratio between a blade thickness of said bandsaw blade and a slot thickness of said housing slot is comprised between 0.65 and 0.75.
