Abstract
A system includes a first connecting component. A second connecting component is attached to the first connecting component. A first field replaceable self-retracting lifeline (SRL) is connected to a first attaching component that is connected to the second connecting component. The first connecting component includes a rod configured for attaching to webbing of a fall protection harness, and the first field replaceable SRL is replaceable with a second field replaceable SRL without recertification.

A system comprising:
- a first coupling component;
- a second coupling component coupled to the first coupling component;
- and
- a first field replaceable self-retracting lifeline (SRL) coupled to a first connecting component that is coupled to the second coupling component;
- wherein the first coupling component includes a coupling rod configured for attaching to webbing of a fall protection harness, and the first field replaceable SRL is replaceable with a second field replaceable SRL without recertification.
A system comprising:
- a first coupling component;
- a second coupling component coupled to the first coupling component;
- a first field replaceable self-retracting lifeline (SRL) coupled to a first connecting component that is coupled to the second coupling component;
- and
- a second field replaceable SRL coupled to a second connecting component that is coupled to the second coupling component
- wherein the first coupling component includes a coupling rod configured for attaching to webbing of a fall protection harness, and the first field replaceable SRL and the second field replaceable SRL are each replaceable with another field replaceable SRL without recertification.
A method for replacing a field replaceable self-retracting lifeline (SRL) without recertification, comprising:
- removing, using a first tool, a set connector from a holding portion of a locking device coupled with a first attachment component of a first field replaceable SRL;
- at least partially removing the locking device away from a connecting component via a through-hole by releasing the locking device using a second tool;
- removing the first attachment component from the connecting component that frees the first replaceable SRL;
- aligning a second attachment component of a second field replaceable SRL with the connecting component;
- inserting the locking device into the through-hole and connecting the locking device to the connecting component using the second tool;
- and
- installing, using the first tool, the set connect and engaging the set connector to the holding portion of the locking device,
- wherein the second field replaceable SRL replaces the first field replaceable SRL without recertification.
