Systems, methods, and devices for controlling re-sheathing forces

A method of deploying a prosthetic heart valve, comprising:

• navigating a delivery system through a vasculature of a patient and to a native valve annulus, a sheath of the delivery system being configured to house the prosthetic heart valve in a compressed state while navigating the delivery system through the vasculature;
• moving a catheter of the delivery system to control deployment of a ventricular end of the prosthetic heart valve by releasing tension on a strand that i) has a first portion configured to extend radially outward from a compression resistant member, ii) is configured to couple to the prosthetic heart valve and configured to extend around a circumference of the ventricular end of the prosthetic heart valve, and iii) has a second portion configured to extend radially inward to the compression resistant member;
• and
• moving the catheter of the delivery system to control deployment of an atrial end of the prosthetic heart valve.
