Abstract
Therapeutic sound is provided through a bone conduction apparatus. A patient having a mental disorder is selected and provided with a bone conduction apparatus. A therapeutic signal generator generates a therapeutic signal for ameliorating the mental disorder. A vibratory actuator of the bone conduction apparatus vibrates based on the therapeutic signal, which causes the patient to perceive a therapeutic sound percept.
Claims21
1-20. (canceled)
A system, comprising:
- a housing;
- and
- a therapeutic sound system configured to generate therapeutic sound configured to address a medical condition of a user of the system, the therapeutic sound system comprising:
- a sensor configured to take a measurement of the user and produce measurement data based on the measurement;
- a signal generator configured to generate, based on the measurement data, a therapeutic signal for ameliorating the medical condition;
- a vibratory actuator disposed in the housing and configured to vibrate in response to the therapeutic signal;
- and
- a coupling configured to facilitate transfer of vibrations from the vibratory actuator to an inner ear of the user.

A method, comprising:
- obtaining, via a sensor, measurement data of a user having a medical condition that is unrelated to hearing loss;
- generating, based on the measurement data, a therapeutic signal for ameliorating the medical condition;
- generating, via a vibratory actuator, vibrations based on the therapeutic signal;
- and
- transferring the vibrations from the vibratory actuator to an inner ear of the user.
