Abstract
Methods and devices for repair of a torn or ruptured ligament using a scaffold device are provided. Aspects of the present disclosure include method of placement and fixation of sutures using a fixation device. In aspects of the present disclosure, the method includes notchplasty and delayed rehabilitation.
Claims39
A method for repairing a tear of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), comprising:
- contacting a torn femoral stump of the ACL and a torn tibial stump of the ACL with a scaffold, wherein the torn tibial stump has a tibial stump length that is less than 75% but greater than 5% of a total length of the ACL.
A method for repairing a tear of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), comprising:
- performing a notchplasty to a femur;
- and
- contacting a torn femoral stump of the ACL and a torn tibial stump of the ACL with a scaffold;
- and
- adding a repair material to the scaffold.
